Volunteering with CBA/Ballet Minnesota

SignUp Genius link for MDF 2016 volunteers!

Before Performances …

Nutcracker volunteering: Join TEAM NUT! It is fun and easy! All we need is your email address. If you sign up for TEAM NUT you will receive emails requesting volunteers to work on certain projects. By joining TEAM NUT you are not committing to every time, but only when it works with your schedule. If you like sewing, working on costumes or props consider TEAM NUT!

Other volunteer opportunities: More information below in the Volunteer Sign-up Form for various needs throughout the season. Please consider getting involved by signing up online or turning in the hard copy at the front desk at either studio.

During Performances…

Just prior to casting, we will e-mail everyone a link to our online sign-up tool with specific volunteer needs during production week. Please choose at least one performance to help your dancer’s level back stage with costumes and make-up. Volunteers are a very important part of the production. We will need 4-6 Moms every performance for each level. (Sorry, no Dads because of costume changes – but Dads can volunteer with sets, load-in, load-out, etc.). Make sure we have your e-mail address to receive important announcements leading up to performances!

After Performances…

If you volunteer 4 hours or more you can fill out a voucher and receive $25.00 credit toward tuition which must be used with the following tuition payment. If you have more then one dancer you may volunteer 4 hours for each and will receive $25.00 for each. If you volunteer more then 4 hours THANK YOU but $25.00 per dancer is the maximum credit amount. You can pick up and/or drop off your voucher at the front desk of your studio.

Thank you for volunteering! Without your help we could not give your children this amazing opportunity to be part of a professional production!

Ongoing – And Most Needed!

We are looking for someone willing to donate their time and talents in designing online mailing campaigns through applications such as MailChimp or Constant Contact. This person would also be asked to periodically send out campaigns about performances and general news to CBA Parents.
If you are interested in being a key coordinator with our Nutcracker and Spring MDT performances, we need you! No experience necessary, jut the willingness to be one of our key coordinators with our younger dancers (levels pre-ballet – level 4) in getting them on and off stage as well as the point person for assisting other parents with proper hair, make-up and costume dressing. Note: because this takes place in a female dressing area, we are looking for female volunteers.

Marketing

Individuals needed to identify potential audiences (schools and community groups) and place phone calls or emails to see if they have an interest in bringing a group to the Nutcracker or MDF student shows.
Assist Marketing Committee with various marketing tasks such as identifying new online advertising opportunities, distributing flyers at key community events (Art Crawl), etc.
Help coordinate the design and build the float for these two parades - OR - help coordinate the costumes and dancers participating in the parade.
Research and coordinate different events throughout the summer that CBA/BMN could have a table at, and set up booth schedule.

Performance Production

Many sewers are needed in preparation for performances. Sewing often happens Tuesday nights, Saturday, and Sunday during the day. We could also use volunteers to with little or no experience to work on non-sewing projects.
Individuals would assist with the planning, building and/or painting of sets.
Volunteer at the exciting merchandise table before and after a Nutcracker performance in the front lobby. There are 6 volunteers per shift. You will wrap, bag and take payment from performance goers.
6-8 individuals are needed to load and transport performance sets to/from the dance studio and the theater for each performance. (Men – here’s your opportunity!)
Sewers are needed in the Costume Shop during performances. All levels of sewing experience are welcome.
Help check school groups in prior to student show performances for Nutcracker and Minnesota Dance Festival.
